In this dramatic comedy, a Black realtor, a White stoner and an aging hippie have just opened a weed shop in gentrifying DC. Now a mysterious weed magnate from Colorado is coming to invest. But is he an angel investor or a cannabiz vulture? As the shop’s partners clash over that question, they confront the larger questions haunting urban America. Can you lead a virtuous life in a venal city? Can you thrive, or even survive, if you lack dynastic wealth? And can we hold our neighborhoods together as market forces tear them apart?

Green Machine is presented as a part of the 2022 Capital Fringe Festival, a program of the Washington, DC non-profit Capital Fringe.
